Željko Kipke (Čakovec, 1953.) is a painter, film director, novelist and art critic. His painting is characterized by the analytical, eclectic, and theoretical completeness of the particular cycles. His career commenced with primary painting, developed through the usage of the geometric patterns that refer to the non-painting semantic field, and so far concluded in figuration. Since 1982 his practice includes theoretical and criticism, and he started publishing articles and reviews in newspapers and magazines. He lives in Zagreb, Croatia.
