Slobodan Šijan rođen je 1946. g. u Beogradu u Srbiji. Šijan je filmski režiser, scenarist i filmski kritičar, slikar. Završio je Akademiju likovnih umjetnosti i bavio se slikarstvom, a 1980-ih aktivno se počinje baviti kinematografijom. Jedan od njegovih najpoznatijih filmova je Ko to tamo peva (1980), proglašen je 1996. g. najboljm jugoslavenskim filmom u zadnjih 50 godina. Bavio se i eksperimentalnim filmom. Neki od drugih zapaženih ostvarenja su i filmovi Davitelj protiv davitelja (1984.), Kako sam sistematski uništen od idiota (1983.) i Maratonci trče počasni krug (1982.) Profesor je na Fakultetu dramskih umjetnosti u Beogradu. Živi i radi u Beogradu u Srbiji. Slobodan Šijan was born in 1946 in Belgrade, Serbia. Šijan is a film producer, directo and film critic, painter. He graduated from the Academy of Arts and started painting, and in the 1980s he actively engaged in cinematography. One of his most famous films is Who's That Singing Over There? (1980), which was, in 1996, chosen as the best Yugoslav film in the last 50 years. He also created experimental films. His other notable films are How I Was Systematically Destroyed by an Idiot (1983), and The Marathon Family (1982). He is a professor at the Faculty of Performing Arts in Belgrade. He lives and works in Belgrade, Serbia.
