Rudolf Sikora was born in 1946 in Žilina, Slovakia. He is a conceptual artist, focusing on painting, photography, graphics, objects and installations. He often uses themes of the universe and landscapes in his works. Sikora was one of the first artists in Czechoslovakia who systematically worked with the theme of the civilizational and ecological threat to the world. He was an initiator of collective events and founded the 1st Open Studio in Bratislava (1970). Sikora worked as a university professor at universities in Bratislava and Košice. He lives and works in Bratislava, Slovakia.
